Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown announced the sudden and unexpected death of his father, Billy Brown, in an emotional statement on Monday, February 8.
“Our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,” the TV personality wrote on Instagram. “He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well. We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time! God bless everyone!!!”
I suspect there will be a few small communities and businesses who won't be sending condolences any time soon. The family left folks who can't afford it unpaid for goods and services and Dad and son were charged and later convicted of falsifying AK Permanent Fund claims. That's fraud folks. The family considered setting up camp near the small AK town I lived in. They spent some time scouting the area. Folks refused to do business with them. The whole community heaved a huge sigh of relief when they and the show's besotted film crew picked another spot. Much of their family "backstory" is sheer fabrication, and their antics were embarrassing to true offgrid bush Alaskans.

I know it was faked. I stopped watching the show years ago. They don't even live where they're "building". It's all just a TV set to bring in the money. Last I read the kids weren't talking to each other.
