Tiger Woods is "lucky to be alive" after a single-vehicle car crash Tuesday morning, says Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva. The golf legend was hospitalized in serious condition after the rollover crash and his manager says he needed surgery for multiple leg injuries. The cause of the crash is unclear, but sources tell TMZ that Woods was speeding when he left a hotel around 7am, less than 15 minutes before the crash.
TMZ's info would be useful if the police couldn't determine speed from vehicle data or the scene, for the drive between his starting point and the crash scene takes maybe 20 minutes with light traffic and at close to the speed limits and near the starting point the road winds much too much to drive at high speeds.
I would not be surprised that he had been speeding. Apparently, he has done so behind the wheel prior, having driven while already upset.
It's awful that he was hurt like that as it would be in any case...but we need to remember that, just because one may be famous for some talent or skill, that they can still be a flawed person in ways, which he has otherwise proven.

But that's not the case. He also could have stopped at Starbucks or caught at a construction zone, or peed on the side of the road, insert any potential cause of slowing traffic and still worthless.
He was speeding, it was a factor. TMZ created a story that was never there.
Of course he was speeding. Anyone could have guessed judging by the type of accident.
It still might matter how he was driving at the start, per his state of mind and general driving style. There's almost nothing to stop for between the resort and the accident location, no reason for someone to be peeing by the road in daylight minutes into a drive and I think if there were a construction zone in place at the time, that would have been reported.
How fast Tiger was driving will be important. If it wasn't very excessive, the question will be whether he was rushing at all or his Genesis gradually picked up speed going down the mountain and he for some reason was unaware. At this point, they've ruled out that the vehicle for example hit debris in the road?

Important to what?
It was a single vehicle accident. No property was damaged other than his own. If his insurance wants to raise a stink and not pay out.. He's got PLENTY of money to replace it on his own.
I'd say.. This, from any standpoint other than looky-loo curiosity (I admit, i'm curious, too) is over.
Cops aren't interested, so.. Who is left to be interested?
That's not his SUV. Insurance maybe could refuse to pay for his medical care, assuming he has that type of coverage to begin with. Hawthorne Boulevard is a county road; its signage and maintenance therefore must be the responsibility of Los Angeles County. If some of the accident is attributable to that, there could be a lawsuit against the county.

Doesn't matter if that's not his SUV, he's personally responsible and I'm sure has vehicle insurance and medical coverage.
Who TF cares?
