This is shocking sad news because he was always in such good shape. When it's your time, it's your time.

RIP Apollo!!

I thought it very gracious of Mr Stallone to say that the Rocky movies (particularly the first) would not have gained as much steam without Mr. Weathers. He fit the role perfectly.

I also liked his ability to make himself the butt of humor, like his stint on Arrested Development, which he is portrayed (as himself) as seeking to save money by any means ("Put that meat bone in water, add some broth and potatoes, and baby, you have a stew going!"), and booking seats on flights where the chances of being bumped, and compensated, are high: "Guess where I'm not flying today!" he said to Tobias on the bus to the airport.

A class act.

Damn, the guy had a great physique in his prime. Equally good in drama and comedy.

Sad news, indeed! R.I.P.
But I am happy for him as it sounded like he went peacefully.
That is the only thing I am hoping for when it is my time, a peaceful, quick death.

I think his best scene which I remember well is from the 1978 horror film " The Bermuda Depths." He fought what was a demonic sea turtle of huge size and shot it with a harpoon rifle nicknamed " The Horror." The monster sea turtle sinks the boat, kills Burl Ives when it knocks his helicopter out of the air and only Weathers and the character Magnus are left alive in a life raft. But Weathers is entangled in the harpoons steel cable and is dragged to a watery death when the turtle submerges.
Great stuff and the movie has a cult following with a great soundtrack. It also starred Connie Selleca.
Weather's fighting Richard Kiel in " Force Ten From Navarrone" was also a memorable scene.

I think the last role I remember him from was as a recalled to duty retired cop in the USA Network science fiction show Colony.
