He just had a birthday and is the same age as my dad.
He is famous for his role as Apollo Creed in Rocky, Predator, and The Mandolarian (among many other roles)
He passed away in his sleep according to his family.
RIP Mr. Weathers
I cannot imagine anybody else playing Apollo Creed. And without that character, Rocky would have been long forgotten with no sequels. Carl and Sly forged their careers with that movie.
I was watching him as Chief Forbes on “In the Heat Of The Night” .when I heard the news. Always liked him.
