OK, somebody has to say it - Even after he cooled off, I'll bet his insides are still too hot to deal with.

Those things could be mean. Kids coming in wincing from the burns to the top of the mouth, it is a wonder that generation survived. You knew the ones who had learned, 'cause they would look at one on a plate like it was an unexploded bomb, break it, and touch the jam with the tip of a finger, and only then try to eat it.

I may be the only one who ate them right out of the package. I never stuck them in the toaster. I liked the ones with the frosting on top.

When I saw this, my first thought was to make a snarky comment. But more power to him. He created something and provided for him and his family for generations as well as made people happy. All I've done with my life is **** people off and be snarcastic, LOL

Pop tarts were like ring dings …. Treats we loved but very rarely
Had …
Loved the blueberry and cinnamon with loads of butter melted on them

In my adult life I’ve avoided them …
Too much sugar!!

Yes, it's easy to criticize them as unsophisticated or unhealthy, but so are many snacks, and they are really an iconic snack; and they have been enormously popular, for decades. "In 2022, more than three billion were consumed, netting Kellogg’s snacking division Kellanova $978 million in U.S. sales. By last October, sales for 2023 were even higher". And this is over 50 years after they were invented. Clearly, they were a great idea.

Same! If I was in a bind or not at home, I'd eat them uncooked.

If they aren't heated up, then I put them in the same class as stale dounts. I'll probably eat them, but won't especially cherish the memory of it. Heated up, you could easily eat the whole box.

We're probably being overly nice by not mentioning the people who ended up w/ lots of health problems from eating too many pop tarts. There's a price we pay a price for cheap thrills.

RIP Mr. Post. It's always touching when someone you've never met dies and you learn what a significant (or trivial depending on how you look at it) impact in your life. The guy who invented pop tarts is gone
I've always toasted mine.
