I need help here people. I believe my ex has somehow gotten into my Iphone and put a tracking app or something similiar to it on my phone. He is telling me things that only me and another person have spoken about via text. Not one other person knows these details. I mean specific details of who they are and where we have been which we have spoken via text only and in person but he was never around. How do I see if this is true?? He's a complete Mac know it all. I really appreciate because this is complete BS. Either that or he's having me followed.
If you are at all concerned that he hacked your phone, do a system reset. It would wipe out any installed applications if he did manage to install them on your phone. If you did not erase prior text messages on the phone, if he had access to the phone he could read those messages.
I personally think he is full of BS and is trying to intimidate you. He could not "hack" your phone unless he had physical access to it. He can't remotely hack your phone.

Does he have access to the device?
An iOS device with a passcode is pretty secure, to the point that law enforcement agencies can't get info off the devices.
We had gotten back together but I left him three months ago. We were living together so yes he had access to my phone. Even recently as he had come over to do my tv mount and I was in the shower. He's had access

So...he read your messages while you were in the shower?
This doesn't sound like a technical issue, but if you're really paranoid, just wipe the device.
OP, you should erase text messages or email stored on the phone that you don't want anyone else to access. A little precaution on your part would be a good idea. Not likely he intercepted your messages remotely.
You're phone hasn't been hacked. He read your messages while you were in the shower.
You would have to be a borderline genius with computers to be able to remotely hack and intercept iPhone messages. If he's that good then he needs to be applying for a job at the FBI or CIA.
