....for someone that's not into the bells and whistles and simply wants a phone with a decent amount of memory and a good battery life?

The biggest problem my wife and I are having is we have so little memory, that when apps do upgrades, we have to delete another app to upgrade.

Our phone service is Verizon.

I have this model. It's not cheap or basic. I recommend that OP shop for a Verizon prepaid iphone. Those models tend to be more basic than the postpaid models. Maybe an iPhone 7 or 8 with 64GB of storage.

My mother has a Moto G7 and loves it. 64GB of storage and 4GB memory. If that’s a bit overkill there’s the Moto G7 Power model which is a bit cheaper.

Is your current phone running IOS or Android? Do you want to stay with that operating system or are you willing to change?
What is your budget? For each phone.

Android. I don't care about the operating system. All I care about is what I mentioned in the original post. My budget is up to $350 per phone, but want to keep it as basic and cheap as possible.

Thanks to all that have responded so far.

How about a refurbished iPhone 6s for $135? It'll be a good way to test whether you like the iOS platform.

Check out Credo Mobile for their plans, we were 20 year Verizon customers, best overall network around, and just recently changed to Credo . Credo is a Verizon re-seller, so your network remains the same, but they have better/cheaper plans, and will buy out your contract, if you have one. They offer both Android and i phones.
Go to cell phone reviews (like this one), to find which would best suit your needs. They have several models in your price range that would do the job.

Regards
