We're hoping to move right after thanksgiving from our current apt in MtP to our new home in PW. We'll probably move a lot of the boxed stuff ourselves in dribs and drabs initially, but we'll need some movers to help with the big stuff (furniture etc.) since we don't know a whole lot of folks down here to pull a posse of guys with muscle together.

Can anyone recommend a good reasonably priced mover? One who won't scratch my new floors, ding my freshly painted walls, or do the same to the furniture like the last ones did?

Sorry, cannot reply with a local mover. When we moved from NYC back in May, we rented an ABF 18 wheeler, loaded it ourselves, they drove it down and we unload it. Costs us about 1/3rd of a regular moving company. But anyway.... my advice is to watch, watch, watch the carrying, loading and unloading. Cuts down on the scratches and dents. But this is just common to do during a move, just a reminder, as you run after, look after that 3 yr old during the move
