Where can we find the best shopping malls in or around Charleston? I understand that Northwoods and Citadel Malls are your typical indoor malls with the basic anchor stores (I have read some negative reviews online about Citadel being in a run down area..is this true?).
But I have heard great things about the Market St/King St shopping areas in downtown Charleston and also the Mt. Pleasant Town Center. Are those easily accessible? Do you have to pay to park? Could you spend an afternoon there and then have dinner, cocktails, coffee, etc afterward? Where do you like to go?
King Street shopping is not "typical". If you are looking for more familiar stores, I would head over to Mount Pleasant to Town Center. Great shops and good food there as well.

Is King Street going to be more like little specialty shops and boutiques?

King Street has some of the best shopping in the southeast. Dozens of designers have stores, best shoe store in the nation, Bob Ellis, antiques, Berlins, just tons of fantastic shopping.
You'll also find mall stores like Banana Republic and Gap.

north Charleston is the shopping capital of South Carolina
Really??? Because I have been to several other areas of South Carolina and North Charleston is fair but not great in both store availability and asthetics. I suspect this is your personal opinion? Well, I personally avoid shopping in North Charleston if I can help it. I prefer the convenience of Mt P Town Center or King Street, but again that's just my personal opinion.
I prefer Towne Center and the Outlets to our Mall shopping. King Street is nice but limited in hours and stores. Plenty of restaurants to choose from on King Street.
Excuse me for interrupting, but WHERE is the Apple Store at in Charleston? I heard it's in a small building somewhere on King Street?? How hard is it to find? How hard is it to find a parking space where is located? Yes I'm an Apple geek, but besides my Harley I'm no different than any other almost middle-aged, married for 25+ years, man. Really I am.
On another note, as someone who will be new to the area by the end of this month, but has a son entering high school who is roughly 6' 4" (he hates basketball), where is the best place to find clothes for him? Anything stand out up there other than your normal Walmart, Target, Sears, or JC Penney's stores? He's not that hard to buy for but finding clothes that fit him is starting to be a challenge for us. :|
Thanks!
