Thank you! Took you up on your suggestion...FABULOUS! I spent years living in Little Italy (North End) in Boston and haven't had much comparable since. Delicious!
Nobody's mentioned Carrabba's on 17N. Yes, it's a chain, but I think it's more a regional family type chain - not sure, though. We love the food, they have the best Cesar salad in EC! Atmosphere is quiet, family style -we've always had great food and service there.
I haven't seen anyone mention Pan e Vino yet. Its on Warren or Vanerhorst North of Calhoun & West of King. It is a fav but the venue itself isn't going to shout fine dining.
And I'll add another vote for Al Di La which is not downtown but that little strip gives it a reasonaly special feel. Plus outdoor dining.
I have seen one or two names on here that I am going to have to try- I tend t get into a set pattern so its nice when everyoen throws out their recommendations.

We did try Carrabbas a few weeks ago. Really good and yes, the ceasar salad was amazing!
Cuoco Pazzo was excellent. Loved the food and the ambience. We will go back!
