Any info would be helpful. Is it considered a giant subdivision or a part of Summerville?

It is actually in Berkeley County though it has a Summerville address but 29485 zip instead of 29483. Different school district and a little more crime on that side of the interstate.

There are many different subsections of Sangaree. You would really have to drive through the area to get a feel for it. No big HOA restrictions, so anything goes.

We drove through and that makes sense. What year were most of those homes built? Is there a community pool there?

From my experience, people who live in Sangaree consider themselves part of Summerville, but people who live in Summerville don't consider the Sangaree area a part of Summerville (if that makes sense). Not a very good school district, either.

So, does that mean it's not desirable to live there?

For the people that don't live there sure, but I know a few people that like it over there...

I have been living in the Sangaree subdivision for over 3 years now and I have 3 children from 13-7 years old and we have not had any problems. The neighbors are very friendly and there are kids throughout the neighborhood so if you have kids that's always a plus. I will say that towards the school side of Sangaree there are two apartment building one on each side of the street and its seems a little "ghetto" because of the apartments/duplexes (whatever you want to call them) right across the street from the school, but the apartments are pretty well kept and open so it's not too bad. Now turning around and going towards bi-lo there is one sub-section where the majority of the street are duplexes and it LOOKS a bit dark and "ghetto" in there as well, but it's really quiet. Besides those two parts of the neighborhood everything else is really nice. My kids have gone to Sangaree elementary and it was really a great school. Unfortunately I don't really care for Sangaree Middle too much. Sangaree residents are assigned to attend Cane Bay High which is a beautiful school. And plus all of the neighborhoods have side waks which is very rare here in the S.C.. I guess some people don't consider this Summerville because its really close to Ladson. IDK but I consider this Summerville. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
