I'm surprised Outback Steakhouse hasn't come up yet. Has the place dropped off that much? I rarely ever go there anymore but I used to swear by it as an affordable place to get a descent steak or meal.
There are some high-falutin cats on here! Big money and high rollin!
Sorry, I am just a casual cat that likes Longhorn (my wife likes it too!) Sorry Longhorn is not up to your standard. I always get Sirloin there and it is delicious.
Why so snippy? The OP asked who makes the best steaks in MP, not the most affordable.
Personally, I hate paying for something that I can make really well myself, so the only time I'll order a steak is if they are serving amazing aged cuts I can't easily find or if the smell once I get in the restaurant just "talks me into it". That has happened to me a few times at Longhorn and I have been disappointed each time.
Zuman, I haven't been to Outback in a while, but I agree that they were always decent for the money. I still think you can find better in town, and the OP did ask for the best.
I agree with Tom though, if they had asked for the best in the area I would also say The Oak.
I suggested earlier, go to the NY Burcher Shop on Chuck Dawley Blvd. and get a few Filet Mignons or Ribeyes. Take them home. Simply slap them on the grill and cook to desired doneness. Now you have had yourself as fine a steak as I have had anywhere in the world. Use that as a comparision next time you order steak somewhere.

My neighbor across the street owns NY Butcher Shop. He gave us a few steaks and gotta say, they were excellent. Was easily some of the best steaks we have eaten.

OOPS
It is on Ben Sawyer, right after Coleman Blvd and Chuck Dawley combine to form Ben Sawyer Blvd.
It is one of the places I so miss about the Charleston area.

Yum, I agree!!! The only thing I do different is I make a spice crust and sere the steak in a touch if olive oil first. Oh, hurry up Christmas dinner! I have a beautiful 10 pound rib eye roast, and I'm ready to start cooking that right now.
We had some steak (filet) at Dunes West Club last week. OMG it was so good. 20 bucks includes side and baked potato... this is on Thursday nights... also half price bottles of wine that night.
Tenderloin from NYB on Christmas Eve at a friend's home ... wonderful ... but the store can sell ugly too.
When you buy raw beef the blame for 'ugly' falls on you. You see it before you buy it. In a restaurant you don't have control over the situation.
