Is Wild Dunes private access only?

Just doing a little searching online and see that there is a boardwalk and some shops, but when driving in that area recently, it looked like WD was gate accessed.

Is this open to the public?

Private.

I'm pretty sure you can walk in from the beach and get a drink, though.

Thanks!

Would love to explore and possibly try one of the restaurants for lunch today. We were going to try to just drive up to the gate and see if they'd let us drive around a bit, but I think we'll try your suggestion.

We parked at the end of Palm Blvd. and walked down to the beach. At the pavilion entrance beach trail up to the shore there was someone checking Wild Dunes access cards, so we just walked up the beach a little further and found another entrance in. We could only walk half of the boardwalk (at Boardwalk Inn) because the other half (closest to the water) was pass access only again. Nonetheless, we made it in and had a nice trip :-)
