I do think Mt Pleasant feels different depending where you are. I do get a Stepfords wives feeling in some areas (it reminds me of the area that I live in near Charlotte, NC). BUT there are some areas that give me a more beach bum and laid back feeling. We moved from an area that felt very uppity so I'm loving my Goose Creek neighborhood that is laid back.

I didn't get the Stepford wives feeling at all. I also didn't getting the snooty feeling. Everyone we met was exceptionally nice.

What would be the closest grocery shopping to Waters Edge - the Pig at Seaside Farms?

Yes, Target now has groceries. The nice thing about living around that area is that you have Piggly Wiggly across the street, Bi-Lo at Town Centre, and Harris Teeter just a couple minutes away.

Went to that Pig yesterday. I'm overall disappointed in their selection with the exception of beer. Target's generic brand is actually pretty good.

Have you gone to Bottles yet? They have a HUGE selection of beer. That has been the only place that I have found a couple beers I really like. It is in Mt. P on Coleman. I think Moultrie Plaza i s the name of the plaza it is in.

For me, it would not be how people treat you but more about how they present themselves. I tend to think as Stepford wives as being higher end clothing, vehicle, homes, shopping options, etc. My family went mini-golfing in Mt. Pleasant and my 11 year old son asked if we were supposed to "dress-up"...lol. Just silling stuff like that. I've been fishing and met the most delightful mother and son from Mt. P and they looked like they had pressed their clothing prior to grabbing the kid's fishing pole. The mom was VERY nice, so don't get me wrong about me using Stepford wives to describe a person's kindness. I also get that feeling when I go to some of the newer shopping plazas in Mt.P. If you are from Mass, you may know Maine a bit. I'd compare Kittery Maine much more Stepford wives-ish than Portland Maine.

I adore Mt. Pleasant. If it wasn't for my husband's job location, I know of plenty of places in Mt.P that I'd want to live.

PS-I've never even seen Stepford's Wives so I probably should stop using that term....

And edited to add: It think I quoted and responded to the wrong person.

And you think nice clothing, homes, and shopping are strange?

You should be very at home in Goose Creek. Enjoy your surroundings.
