I have a 26 year old office mate who was raised in Hollywood & whose parents still live there. He mourns the growth in crime and attributes it to drug dealing. Crimes of opportunity, breakins/petty theft to support drug use. Sad.
We moved here from Cincinnati last May when my husband got an unexpected job offer. We currently live in MtP in Park West and love the area. It's kind of a drive to my job DT but an easy commute for hubby's job on Clements ferry. Our kids (9 & 6) adjusted much easier and quicker than I did to the move and love their new schools, despite the large size. The only issue we have is that we are having trouble selling our house back home, and when we do, it'll be for a major loss, so we'll be renting for awhile.
That IS a major concern of ours too. Won't/can't move without a job offer. But market is so bad here s. of Chicago. Might have to rent this house out sadly.
