Consumers are already boycotting Bi-Lo through the free market process, but I understand where these people are coming from.
I don't agree with eminent domain being used in this case. This is a $10 million piece of real estate, which no grocery chain is going to pay or lease for *just* a grocery store.
A new affordable grocer does need to go there, but eminent domain is not a magic wand you can just wave and voila, problem solved. This will be interesting to follow.
I forget the original story, but wasn't poor performance or shrinkage the main reason why it was closing down to begin with? What makes people think that if they steal the land and run the exact same thing there it won't happen a second time?

Wait at least two years, and Publix at WestEdge will be open. For the time being, there is Harris Teeter #277, East Bay Trading Station, 290 East Bay Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29401-1623.

Southeastern Grocers, then Bi-Lo Holdings, acquired Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company store 1 with 21 other stores in 2013. Harris Teeter, in the process of being acquired by Kroger at that time, acquired seven stores. Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company imploded.
Out of the 22 Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company stores Southeastern Grocers acquired, one closed instantly, two closed in 2015, and two additional stores including Bi-Lo #5745, 445 Meeting Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29403-5524, are closing. (Another store is in the process of closing. Its closing date has not been confirmed yet.)
I am surprised Bi-Lo #5751, 630 Skylark Drive, Charleston, South Carolina 29407-1718, is not closing instead of Bi-Lo #5745.
Government nannyism at it's best. If a grocery store can't make money there, then the government should just build one and lose money? That's a terrible solution.
