Look for a meeting space in the Charleston area that could accommodate 50-100 people that would be reasonably priced. A church, school, etc. would be fine. Anyone have any ideas? Getting a lot of no's.

Have you seen this website?:Meeting Planning for Corporate Meetings in Charleston, SC Lists hotels and other venues.

The county park buildings are pretty reasonable for a daytime meeting ($250).

Cathedral Church on Ash Phos in N. Charleston has a large center they might rent out for meetings?

You're welcome. Also, maybe the larger libraries? Summerville's meeting space probably wouldn't hold 100 people, but maybe one of the larger one has a big meeting room, or two rooms they can open up together.

Good luck!

Ok, I just looked at libraries. Charleston County provides free meeting space for "non-profit, civic, educational and cultural groups or organizations" (non-commercial.) Looks like Dorchester and Berkeley counties have similar restrictions.

If your event meets their criteria, you can't get much less expensive than free!

Holy City Collective... at the intersection of 526 and Clements Ferry Road just off Daniel Island regularly rents its meeting space out at what I understand is extremely affordable. Its a great location and I understand the folks there are very easy to work with.

What kind of event is it? Party? Or something more calm? It all makes a difference

Try Scotts Grand Banquet Hall on Dorchester Rd in North Charleston in the Harbor Freight shopping Center. I believe they can accommodate 200

This would be a for-profit venture, so that leaves me out of the non-profit restriction.
