I'm still trying to figure out how a government employee makes $100k plus working at home... clearly I'm in the wrong job!

Agreed! Sounds like someone is making too much. A Gov't employee should never be able to afford Mt. Pleasant.

Heck, several of my old neighbors in Mt P were gov't workers including the president of our HOA.

I had assumed the posts about Government workers making too much were tongue-in-cheek. There are a lot of government positions that would warrant that high of a pay scale. The POTUS is a government official...

I know some Gov workers at DOD in Charleston makes over $100k. Some contractors make more than that as well. Need certificate, degree, security clearance, years of experience, ... but then you can loose tho job if divorce, drug use, contract lost... Wife and husband can scoop $250k a year and can afford 1 mil dollar house easily.

Gov pay scales are feast or famine. Many get paid much less than an equivalent private sector position with the same skill set and experience requirements. Other positions make much more. In my experience, the higher the education, experience, or technical requirements, the less you make in comparison to the private sector.

POTUS only makes $400k a year. Not too many corporations have CEO’s that make just 4 times a worker’s salary.
