Dear Friends,

I am planning to move to Summerville some time soon and would like to have your opinions about my home search. I am not very familiar with the area but have some friends living in Wescott and looking something similar or nearby within 10 15 miles max. away. HOA of Wescott seems nice, the community is very organized, clean and safe so those are my main priorities. Other than that I look for a home which is a little newer than ones in Wescott (wescott homes are around 13 14 years old and some require major updates such as kitchen cabinets - air condition units etc.).

Hereby my listed criterias:

3 bedroom with a back yard - single or 2floor - up to $250K - relatively new 0 to 5 years old - within 10 15 miles range of Wescott - clean and organized neighboorhood.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

There are certainly newer houses in Wescott itself that fit your description, so I wouldn't rule that out. Otherwise, Buckshire is one of the closest new developments to Wescott that fits. It's technically in North Charleston so doesn't qualify for the Dorchester 2 school district but since you didn't mention schools, I'm guessing that's not important to you.

$250k for an almost new home will be a challenge. There are a few around, but most are either older or more expensive.

Indigo Palms is newer, with homes ranging from 1 - 10 years old. Some of the smaller homes are under $250k. Yes, it is in North Charleston but also in Dorchester County (therefore Dorchester 2 schools).

Based on your criteria: McKewn, Westcott, and West Highland Acres.

If you stretched a bit on price up to 300k: Coosaw Preserve (selling out soon) Eagle Run, Indigo Palms, Taylor Plantation, and The Villas at Charleston Park.

Limehouse Village is just up Dorchester Road from where you're looking and there's several builders in there that will be under 300k price point.

Another one of note: Lennar has Timber Trace up on hwy 61 which is Ashley Ridge High and price points of 250-290 very possible.
