I welcome all opinions on this. I am thinking of opening a consignment salvage store in Mt. Pleasant. I want to focus on furniture, some architectural salvage, and a small number of home accessories. No clothes - that area is already flooded.

If you have an opinion on the viability of such a store, please post.

Thanks.

I bet that would go over good in Mount Pleasant. I overheard the thrift store owner talking to a customer that was looking for used furniture and they they told her to go to habitat for humanity. That particular thrift store has very little furniture. I just assumed from that conversation that there were not many store type places to buy used furniture in Mount Pleasant.

When we were renovating our house, I definitely would have looked at any architectural salvage in Mt P. And furniture - yes! Go for it!

Architectural salvage that's reasonable in cost / inventory turns quickly = good.

Architectural salvage that's overpriced / inventory more or less stagnant = bad.
