Hi! I'm a Vermont resident and will be graduating from college in May. I have a potential job lead that would bring me to Charleston and I'm wondering how others who have moved from the North have enjoyed the city. I like being outdoors and love the ocean. I guess I'm just looking to hear about the good and the not so good. It seems like a great place.

Hey there. We lived in West Dummerston,Vt a suburb of Brattleboro for 2 years. We live in Summerville now and have not looked back. The good about the area is the treausure the downtown is as well as the weather. The bad thing about Charleston is some of the real estate prices and some of the neighbourhoods- but you get that anywhere.

I think you would like it here and it is worth a trip down!

the not-so-good are all of the venomous critters. They put a real cramp on a lot of hardcore outdoorsy stuff. That would be your biggest adjustment if you are outdoorsy, is that you really have to take a lot more precautions and be really knowledgeable about what you might run into and what dangers they present.
the good is that there is a lot of good and healthy food in the area as well as lots to do, there is no excuse for boredom.
