The financial institution they were dealing with, Sunshine Mortgage went under. They are not merging. There will be a new company, same floor plans, same subdivisions.
Anyone know what is going on with, or why, Brentwood is changing thier name?
Brentwood's new name is Crescent Homes - The Post and Courier (http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2009/may/18/brentwoods_new_name_crescent_homes82630/ - broken link)
It looks like Crescent is the new name for the builder, but it doesn't show anything about the communities in the Charlotte area. Anybody know what's happening with those?

Robin and John Giangrande of Goose Creek weren't ready to buy a smaller home yet.
But when Brentwood Homes slashed the price of the model home in its Coker's Crossing neighborhood and offered to rent the property from them for a year, it was a deal they couldn't resist.
I know a realtor that used to work for Brentwood homes. This isn't the first time they have done a name change as they were something else before that. I think I was told something to the effect that if a company closes it's doors under one name and opens it doors under another it does not have to honor warranties. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. Anyway, this spells trouble and is a builder I personally would steer clear of!
It is my understanding the warranties must be honored. When companies leave the state they usually hire a company like 20/10 to honor them. I'd like to hear from real home owoners if they have had a problem not speculation.
