Hello all. Hubby and I are heading to Charleston this weekend (one of our favorite places!!!!) for our 18th anniversary. We're staying downtown at the Mills House Inn (hope it's nice), and we're looking for some things to do.

I understand that Charleston should be in full bloom this time of year, so it'd be nice to take advantage of that. I was thinking of heading out to Middleton Place Saturday or Sunday to take a trail ride. Anybody done that? Is it nice?

I generally love to 'eat my way' through Charleston, with all the great restaurants y'all have, but I'm looking for some suggestions on new places. I hear there's a new restaurant called Amen or something like that. I generally like to go where the locals go--no chains or touristy places.

Are there any particular events happening this weekend?

Thanks for the help.

Ok, the Mills house is awesome....

Check out the Bucaneer downtown if you really want to have a unique experience go to Charleston Cooks and take a cooking class or attend one of their Taste of the Low Country demos....
