I’m glad the demolition has finally started but it is sad to me. As a kid who grew up in the city & who had no transportation, it was nice to have shops that I could walk to when I needed something. Even now I appreciate having JCPenny there when I need clothing for work. I detest going to corridor G. I truly hope some type of shopping survives here. The swimming & everything sounds wonderful but not something I’ll be taking advantage of.

All of the old sears building area of the mall is just about torn down, now they just have to clean the debris. Went by today and couldn’t believe the recent progress… Someone might have already shared but what are they doing across the street? Where it is all fenced in beside the municipal auditorium

That's where the Sears Auto department/shop was located. They tore it down first and barricaded the property. I don't remember if there has been an announcement about what is going to be done with that property.

There has been no announcement that I’m aware of regarding the Sears Auto property. I know that Poca Valley Bank owns the property.

I would have rather seen the new hotel go on that property, but it’s a bit late for that.
