I heard that North Carolina does not tax Federal Pensions? Is this true? If anyone has examples on how much can be saved or how much is taxed please help. I am also a Disabled Veteran what are the taxes like for state city town home ownership for a DAV. again any info is appreciated. I am from the north east where everything is taxed in abundance. Thanks

It's true! There was an NC Supreme court ruling called the "Bailey Decision" that exempts Federal pensions as well as NC pensions! My property taxes are a fraction of what I paid for a little Cape Cod in Paterson! Car insurance is a bargain as well! I'm not sure about any DAV tax abatements tho'.
