Both, they seem to go hand in hand. Hail storm comes through and every one in the neighborhood is talking to roofers that come through and leave flyers. I'm just asking are these companies actually all bad and just looking for an easy way to make a buck or are they just legit companies trying to take advantage of a situation that can help their business grow.
Talk to your insurance company first. If there is legit roof damage they will give you names of roofers. Check all the roofers out. Beware of these guys that come through here. There have been news stories where people have gotten taken by these guys.

Probably a little of both. I would not generalize to say they were all bad, I'm sure there are plenty of reputable companies out there that are also looking to make a buck. If unsure in this case it is probably best to go with your gut feeling.
Thats what I thought but people are quick so use the word scam. Not every time someone knocks on your door it's about religion or a way to get your 401K. I just read a lot of post on here that quickly made me a little worried.
The storm in my area (East side of charlotte) was March 28th.
