Dear heart you said this
"looking the other way and the whole live and let live concept is a large part of what is wrong in this country. Its time for the people to stand up and pay attention. ...."
There isn't anyone that I know or have heard of who wouldn't call the police if they saw someone getting hurt. If your point was to state the obvious, then I can accept that. If it was to make a value judgment on society then this is why I made my post.

"Live and let live" is a totally different concept than reporting a murder. It's called applying a little common sense.

It is time to stand up and pay attention. Had you been around here long enough you would understand that my meaning is that it is a weak concept of sitting and waiting for someone else to take care us. Turning the cheek is a large part of what has this country in a mess!

No where did I imply being a nosey nelly. But LE can't be everywhere at every so therefore it is up to the citizens of a community to let them know when something isn't quite right. If someone was harming you, yours, your home etc.....you would want LE called.
this is true. However, the OP was (IMHO) overly concerned that the suspect was an illegal alien. That was the basis of my statements...at this point, the citizenship of this individual is not important as it would really not have a lot of bearing on what happened and on the injuries of the officers. That is why I suggested that he let the police do their jobs.

His (the OP) idea that some kind of foreign crime cartel (as evidenced by their illegal alien status) is here is laughable as the Mafia has been here forever.

I agree, if things look suspicious, by all means, call the police. But, by randomly proclaiming that all the evil that happens is done by illegal aliens is ludicrous.

I will discuss immigration status when that is released, if in fact the Jackleg is illegal. This mexican drug cartel issue is NOTHING to laugh at, nothing at all.

The OP was concerned that this very vicious attack on our police(which is something alien drug cartel members are well known for) could be linked to an illegal drug cartel alien right here in Charlotte. Checking this person out unfortunately will include his alien status.....That is all the OPs post was about. No debate here.

That is what I took the OP to mean.

I certainly didn't see any "overly concerned that the suspect was an illegal alien" in the post.

I too am curious about his status and wondering what he was wanted for in the other state. Whatever it was, it IS an indication that this guy was and is trouble to not only the police but the entire population.
