I had previously questioned if anyone knew what was going on with tree clearing on Anderson Mountain on East Maiden Road and gotten no response. They've cleared almost the whole side of the mountain beneath the towers... A few days ago while driving down Anderson Mtn. Rd in Maiden between East Maiden and Route 16, I noticed another large tract being cleared. Anyone know what's happening here? Or the original one on E. Maiden Rd.? Thanks!

Apple is doubling their current data center at the Startown Rd exit (33) off 321 near Maiden.

Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/rutherforddatacenter - broken link) is clearing for their data center in Rutherford County, otherwise, not sure what it could be.

Besides the Apple facility, there's another building, 2 miles east of Apple, on the east side of 321 being marketed as a data center. (This building is owned by the same company that is marketing a data center park in Kings Mountain.)

This could have something to do with what you're seeing.
