Ya know I have a box of mushy peas that have been sitting in my pantry for a few years now. do you think they are still any good? I don't care for them myself and the only time I really eat them is when I am in England and getting some real fish and chips but my dad loves them.
I am also trying to find some British food especially Bisto gravy granules then I can really enjoy my Sunday dinner .
I have tried World Market and Harris Teeter but I am running out of options . For those that remember Waitrose I used to work there before moving to Charlotte .
If you have any leads I would be most grateful.......Ian

Not been in a Waitrose for years, Fresh Market sells bisto gravy & the south african store in mathews sells either the powder or the granules, usually one or the other.
Failing that I can point you in the direction of mail order, I just hate paying the shipping costs.

Reason: added info.
There was one in Charlotte. It was on Park Rd and then moved briefly near South End/Dilworth. They did not carry a whole lot of things and thus did not do too much business, thus they went under. I think more West Indies people shopped there because they carried several different curry seasonings.
Now I know lots of Brits that will take offense with your statement. You are saying that curry is British? LOL!! Seriously, I survived 12 years in London by eating Indian food. Food has seriously improved in Britain in the last decade or so thanks to the adaption of better continental recipts and serving delicious paninnis in pubs instead of bland cheese sandwiches, etc. Also most pubs serve a variety of delicious dishes like curry for lunches instead of roasted chicken and peas. Flavor has invaded English cuisine I used to enjoy shopping at Waitroses while in the U.K. There was always some tasty morsels around to snack on.
A fish and chip shop is different than a place that sells fish and chips.....it just is
