From newsletters I have read it seems that CMC is the one to blame. They are playing Big Bully and are demanding ridiculous exemptions from Union county. Either way they both need to work it out.
Life has shown me that there's usually 3 sides to every story... 3rd side being the "truth", which typically falls somewhere in the middle of the other 2.
I don't disagree with either of you. I'm sure that neither side is without fault. But the bottom line is that pressure needs to be put on both sides to get this facility open. I have two active young boys and know an ER visit is in my future and don't want to have to drive to Matthews or Pineville.
I completely agree, have a young one myself and dont want to have to drive all the way to Pineville when something happens. It seems to be the typical big business showing muscles against the local government.
There is a lot more to this story than is being printed on CMC-Waxhaw's website. I can understand exactly why the UC Board is concerned.
You need to hear what UC Board's thought are and weigh this out.
In addition, you need to stop and consider CMC's strategy and how feasible it would or would not be for them to underwrite more of the costs for CMC-Waxhaw's ED.
Does anyone have any updates on this story!? I moved here not too long ago and find it very odd that the hospital would've even been allowed to be built with a CON I assume and now, no hospital for whatever reason I am unaware of. Either way, I can tell from being here, we sure could use a small hospital in the area of Waxhaw. Ahhhh politics!
Since a new board was elected last fall, I thought I heard the CMC-Waxhaw would be opened by the end of the year. Nothing appears to be going on at the building though. Maybe, someone can confirm what I heard.
I want it to open so my mom can work there instead of making the commute uptown everyday!
