I will be visiting Charlotte over the 4th of July weekend and would like to know if there are any events in store of the holiday weekend? Fireworks, carnivals, festivals, etc...

Thanks

The US National Whitewater Center is having a free 3 day festival:

4th of July Festival with free music and fireworks | U.S. National Whitewater Center

I haven't been there yet, but I hear it is a great place to go have some fun at.

Parking is $5, but you can use the trails for free.

We went to the Whitewater Center last year and it was a blast. There were tons of people rafting, kayaking, doing the ropes stuff, etc, lots of different vendors and activities, and they had live music all day and evening. We did South Park the year before, and it was a snooze-fest. The WWC is going to be our new 4th of July tradition!

You can't buy them in NC, but you can go right across the border to SC and buy them. There are several shops on the first exit off of 77. Or you can bring them from home. Where are you shooting them off, though?

Be careful and enjoy your visit!

When I lived in NJ they weren't legal there either, but....the cops never did anything about it, they just let people set them off. We crossed right over into PA and bought them. Do they really enforce the laws down there in regards to the fireworks?

The law is the law.....with that said, I don't think I would trifle much with them as they are giving tickets/citations for things they normally wouldn't to generate revenue. But again, law is law.....
