I've seen so many commute threads on this forum with people talking about leaving home at 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. as if that's expected/standard fare for getting to work when you need to be. Given that requirement, how early do you all go to bed in order to get a full night's rest? If you're out the door at 6:30 a.m., I have to imagine you'd be waking up at 5 a.m. or so at the latest. That would put you in bed by 9 p.m. at the latest just to get your 8 hours of sleep.

Wow. When I was working in California, the standard workday started at 9:30 a.m. or so, so leaving home before 8 a.m. was really unusual. I lived 30 minutes from work so I was out the door (along with many of my neighbors) around 8:50 a.m. or 9.

I usually go to bed around 11 or 12 on most weeknights and get up around 6:30 or 7. But I'm a guy and can be showered, shaved and ready to go out the door in about 30 minutes.

It's funny though, I find that the earliest I will go to bed all week is on Friday nights. It's like I can barely make it 9pm before I'm out! Yes, it's a party over here! haha

I work from home, so as long as I can stumble to the computer by 9, I'm good! I usually watch Jon Stewart, then go to bed.

I work evenings at the hospital, usually 13 hour shifts. I typically get in bed around 2am and I get up at 7:30am.

Usually around 1 or 2 and I get up close to 7. I need to be at work by 8 so I leave around 7:20 or so. Takes about 30 minutes to get there and 10 minutes to walk from the parking garage to the office.

Between 8 and 10 A.M. to bed , and the immediate vicinity of 8:15 P.M. in lieu of work. Fridays , I'm usually batting my eyes heavily by 3:30 P.M.
