This is only my second year in Charlotte and so I was wondering what sorts of events generally take place on Halloween weekend. I'm single and in my 30s so I was hoping that there would be some sort of venue where people can go, dress up, have a beer, and meet others in equally egregious Halloween costumes. Not really into anything family oriented as I don't have kids. But I also don't want to go to some bar full of college kids and feel like I'm old enough to be the father of everyone around me. Any ideas?
I bought tickets to the nc music factory on oct 29th, theres also a party at the old midtown sundries on harris blvd on the 22nd ...singles halloween dress up party
You should get a Creative Loafing paper (they are free usually outside of restaurants or grocery stores) It tells you all the things the bars around here are doing. You have the Gravediggers Ball but its expensive esp if you dont like the band and very crowded (portopotty time) up until about 11:30 last year then the whole parking lot was empty b/c everyone went over to the epicenter. This year theres also a "Nightmare on 7th street" thing going on centered around Jackalope Jacks- no cover thats where im going!
I recently ate at the current Midtown Sundries in Denver and there was a flyer saying they're having a party there, but didn't really give much info and haven't seen much of anything else about it.
Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up going to a costume party at a local bar. I do have to say that Halloween parties as an adult are kind of overrated though. There are only so many "hot female cop" costumes you can see before you've pretty much gotten the idea. Next year I think I'll rent a nice, scary movie instead :-)
