Where to dump paint cans (Charlotte, Pineville: Home Depot, centers, moving)

I have about a dozen paint cans (some empty, some not). I am looking for somewhere in the Pineville area where I can safely dump these for free.

I googled Pineville junkyard but was only able to find autobody salvage places.

Thoughts?

In my area of Massachusetts DPW wants the paint dry and then toss in with regular rubbish.

Doesn't the Foxhole take those? Look on the Charlotte government website. I remember seeing it on there.

The Foxhole is where you should go. It's right off of Johnston Rd / 521 right on the state line

The Foxhole also takes used batteries, frying oil, and most toxic household items. It would be a good time to take these things down there as well, if you aren't in the area often.

You probably could mix cheap cat litter (the clay kind) with the paint, leave it set up solid, then toss it into the trash to go to landfill.

Home Depot sells a chemical powder that will dry the paint out so you can toss it in with your regular garbage. It's pretty cheap last I checked.

+1 on the kitty litter. This is what the garbage company told us to do when we were moving from Illinois.

You could also Freecycle the partial cans. You'd be surprised. We had someone come and pick it all up.
