I've read a lot of information on this website about the Berewick Community both good and bad. What is the current situation in Berewick with the apartments, the crime, the future development, the HOA's? Have things improved and is it a good place to buy a home right now? Thank you for your help.

It's awesome, we love it here! The apartments were DOA, thanks to the residents and our persistence. We don't have much crime - much less than most other areas of Charlotte, including Ballantyne and S. Charlotte. They are still building and I meet new residents all the time. The HOA is starting to listen to residents and do more of the things we want, the way we want.

I have wonderful neighbors and have made lifelong friends in every section of the neighborhood. Our new elementary school is amazing, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being one of the top schools in the district (it's now it its second year). There have been parents that have switched their kids from private schools to our elementary. Good stuff!

The only bad thing I can think of is that not everyone takes care of their yards, but that is true throughout Charlotte. We just have a different kind of grass here, and not everyone knows how to take care of it. I don't think that takes away from the greatness of my neighborhood, though.

I definitely think it's a good place to buy a home right now. Choosing this neighborhood is one of the best decisions we've ever made. I couldn't be happier.

Is there an estimated time frame for completion of the town center and all the other stuff that is supposed to be a part of the neighborhood? We found a house in Berewick that we really like and hope its still available once we sell this house.

Any crazy restrictions from the HOA? Nosy old Betties running around with their note pads tattling?

I think the town center is supposed to be in by 2015. Who knows. in the meantime, Rivergate is less than 10 mins away. We still love it here, but are ready to sell our house. Want to come take a look?
