Hi! I'm 23 and looking to move from Frederick, MD to Charlotte or the surrounding areas.

What are some young peoples' (or anyone's) opinions about living there? Is there any music scene? (I'm a concert photographer).

Are there affordable apartments? Any good well-known apartment complexes?

Is Charlotte a walkable or spread out city? Gas prices?

Does anyone know if there are any jobs there right now? Is there a minimum pay that everyone earns around?

Please feel free to spill your guts about Charlotte and the nearby areas

"affordable" is a very relative term, you need to tell us what you can afford

Charlotte is a very pretty city, but it is mostly a suburban city which means it's not walkable like older cities.

You'd want to concentrate on jobs first though, before you get your heart set on moving okay?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT move here without a job!

The minimum pay around here that people earn is $7.25/hour. And THOSE jobs are scarce!

The unemployment rate in North Carolina and Charlotte is higher than the national average. That means that competition is tighter for every job that opens. It's June and there's a new class of college seniors who are probably looking for the same jobs.

Can you sponge off of your parents for a few more years until the economy improves?
