tax due for carpet bought in NC, installed in SC? (Charlotte: hardwood floors, sales)

The reason I asked was because we recently relocated from PA. In PA, you did NOT have to pay tax on carpeting that was installed in your house. So I asked because I did not know the tax rules here in either SC or NC.
Of course I will pay if that is what is expected and required by the law. Just inquiring as a relatively new resident.
That carpeting lobby in PA must be a force to be reckoned with.
Actually, I think it had something to do with work inside your residence that was "attached" rather than added free standing. For example, the same tax exclusion applied when we bought and installed windows. Since they were part of the house, there was no sales tax due. I am trying to think of other things, but my mind is blanking right now.
Apparently, no such exclusion here, so I am glad to be in the south and ready to pay the taxes due!!
How would one know the actual color and feel of a carpet they can't see or touch?
Have them send you samples. It's how I did it for my hardwood floors.
