The closest country clubs to where you are looking to buy are, Carmel Country Club and Quail Hollow Country Club. Also, Myers Park Country Club, where all Charlotte's "old money" goes. There are others but these would be the closest to Ballantyne or Southpark. Of course, if you lived in Piper Glen Estates, they have their own amenities like club house, pool, golf course, etc.

Gated communities in south charlotte are almost zero.

You can try Ballantyne Country Club ($600K houses).. In fact I know a friend who moved to Connecticut who is selling. (This does not get country cub membership... 60K for that )
This gets you the prestigious Ardrey Kell High School or Myers Park

You can also try Providence country club.
