A friend is having a hard time finding a competent therapist for her nephew, who has OCD. They don't have insurance or medicaid, so need to find someone who will charge on a sliding scale. He is a young adult - 21, I think. Does anyone have recommendations for a good therapist or practice, specializing in OCD?

Try connecting with a local chapter that might have a list of low cost doctors in the area. Or a support group where other members might know of someone. Also contact Novant Health, they have a network of doctors/therapists and might also have a list of who will work with your friend.

try psychologytoday.com and do a search for a therapist. You can narrow it down by the issue you would like addressed. It will include the insurance they take, if they do a sliding scale and what their experience is. Good luck!

Dr Jessica Bloomfield at Southeast Psych works with kids who have OCD. I've heard that she's wonderful. Many doctors at that practice offer reduced fees to patients who need it.
