My wife and I are looking at relocating to Charlotte, shocker i know. We are looking for some commuting informaiton if possible. I hopefully will be working at the Bank Of American building down town. I would like to keep the commute to about 30 mins and we are looking to spend about 325k on a house. if possibel we would like to be in a safe, family friendly subdivision (a new build or a golf course if possible). Any info would be helpful. Thanks soo much.
That would be tough to find south of the city. If you can go out to maybe 45 minutes away, you would be able to find a new or newer home, though not in a golf course community. Not sure where you are relocating from, but there are many public courses -- some of the courses in communities are also open to the public.
Location: Sunny Phoenix Arizona...wishing for a beach.

Move to Birkdale and take the express bus downtown.
The Steele Creek area has a lot of new construction and is close to uptown (within 30 mins). One popular new development is Berewick. There are many other great neighborhoods. Renaissance Park Golf Course is close by.
and do these 2 areas have good schools? we hear alot about matthews, concord, indian trail, weddington and harrisburg are all great locations. would the commute time be too long? are there any new builds out that way.......
Harrisburg was really nice, commute time might have been a bit shorter than where we are in Indian Trail, but Indian Trail, at least where we are is about 30 min, but longer at peak times.
I don't know about the price of homes, but my first thought when I read your post was Raintree and keep the golf course.
If you want to go a little further out there is Stonebridge near Mineral Springs. It will seem really far out when you are looking, but you travel pretty fast until you get closer to Charlotte. There are $800,000 as well as lower priced homes in this area.
My first choice thinking like you do and a little further out would be Tega Cay. As you can see, I like nice neighborhoods.
Thanks again everyone. Its tuff relocating and trying to get good informaiton. Everyone has been very helpful. If anyone can think of any other locations that are good to look into please let us know. Just like everyone else we would like a descent commute time (30mins), that great family friendly enviornment, a safe area, good schools and a lovely home. Thanks again my friends in Carolina.
