Hi there! My husband's company would like for him to relocate to company headquarters in Ballantyne. We are going to check out the area later this week, but it's so large that we are having a difficult time sorting through the different areas and neighborhoods. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

About us and what we are looking for:
-We have three young kids. (ages 6, 4, and 2)
-Well-rounded, good schools are a top priority, especially elementary.
-No more than a 30 minute commute to the Ballantyne office.
-Active neighborhood with sidewalks, a strong sense of community, and lots of young families
-Low crime rate
-Not too developed, but still a short drive or walk (preferably) to school, library, parks, coffee shops, grocery store, YMCA, etc. (From what we can tell, it seems like Waxhaw/Matthews/Indian Trail might be areas for consideration. Thoughts?)
-Willing to spend up to $1400/month on rent, or less than $225k if we decide to buy, for a 3 or 4 bedroom house or townhouse. We don't care about having much yard as long as there are green spaces nearby.

Suggestions for areas or specific neighborhoods we should check out?

Thanks in advance!

Quite a few viable options... how long until you move down?

OK good - the Union County school redistricting will be settled by then. I'll reply more - have to sleep!
