There's more options than Steele Creek and Huntersville. No offense to the folks in Huntersville, but it's a such a traffic-jammed flavorless burgville. Much like Steele Creek, except for more traffic and texting malcontents. I can't think of a single reason to choose Huntersville over South (or other more culturally exciting places in) Charlotte unless you live on the lake.
I find this hilarious. I would not live in South Charlotte for anything. I love north Mecklenburg and find it a great family place to live. Huntersville is a community with strong ties when I am in South Charlotte I just want to get done and head NORTH

to each their own, though your idea of comedy is decidedly different than mine.

But I have lived in Mooresville, Huntersville, Cornelius, AND Charlotte, so I have a pretty rounded opinion of the Lake area compared to Charlotte. If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't choose "South Charlotte" either... but I would take it a hundred times over before Huntersville, so there's another LOL for ya!

I guess if you have a really nice car you like to sit in for 10+ hours a week then being stuck in traffic for every mindless errand you require is not such a bad thing!
