What a ripoff. $9 for a beer. $9 for a BBQ sandwich. I asked them why there wasn't any slaw on the sandwich- which they said it was an extra $3 for slaw. I reminded him that we were in NC and that's a shootable offense.

I don't mind spending money. I love to go to Del Frisco's. I love to go to the Wells Fargo Championship and blow lots of money.

But spending that much money on minor league baseball is an absolute ripoff.

Prices for food and drinks at professional sports team venue are outrageously overpriced.

The Knights need to find other ways to raise revenue. Overpricing your products and displaying a bad team on the field play to its 41st loss of the season is a very bad business model. Your customers, mostly fans, and sponsors will send their money elsewhere. Lower ticket prices, lower prices for quality food and drinks and a winning team equals success.

Remind me again how much a food/beer at a Checkers game is? Or at Carowinds? Or the airport?

You guys crack me up. You expect $2 beers and $1 hot dogs. This isn't the 80's folks. If you don't like the prices, i don't know...maybe don't pay them and quit bitching?

The game I was at, most everyone had a beer or two w/ nachos and not one was crying in it. This is how any sports team generates revenue. They have 25 players and 50+ full time staff to pay.

PS - They are averaging 9,601 people a night (most by far). They must be doing something right.

Isn't this thread #2 on this subject? If you dont like the prices go buy food at the park. I remember beer being $9 back in the early 2000's at the Staples Center in LA. Its nothing new.

If you are so upset by the prices, go on Thursdays. $3 domestic drafts and $1 sodas. Another alternative would be to show up a little early and hit up one of the bars/restaurants near the stadium. What a lot of you don't seem to understand is that minor league baseball is still professional baseball. Players, coaches, staff, etc are all getting paid. The stadium cost money to build and operate. I wonder how much those fireworks shows cost that we all have the opportunity to watch for free.

Great point. Buying beer at the Staples Center in LA is exactly like BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte.

And what beer (and what size) was $9 exactly? I know I was drinking Noda Brewing pints for $7. Same pint would cost me $5 at any bar in town. Not exactly highway robbery.

I paid around $8 for like 4 rinky dink chicken tenders from Bojangles (no fries no drink) during Disney on Ice.

I'm sure the knights was more thrilling, sounds right for any event price wise.

Eat before you go.

BBQ sammich was $9. I asked why there was no slaw... they said a side was $3 more. $12 for a BBQ sammich w/ slaw.

That's what really p*ssed me off.

I went w/ a group of guys, so I should have planned better. But I doubt I'll be back. The views are great, but it's baseball.

They're making a killing and people will overpay. So good for them.
