I have a few friends from mount airy coming down for July 4th.
I wanted to see some fireworks. I live in Huntersville and wanted to hang around Birkdale and such to eat and maybe the movies if it's open late enough.
Problem is Im having trouble finding on the Internet where to go for fireworks around LKN (preferably In Meck)
We're all adults. No kids. 1/2 in the mid 20's, 1/2 in the early 40's
I wasn't sure if someone like Cornelius did a big display over the lake? I read somewhere about taking one of the cruises from Queens Landing to see fireworks on the lake.
Revising this one from last year as I really didn't find anything. So.. any fireworks shows around LKN?
I still can't find a definitive answer. I'm just going to go to uptown and watch the fireworks from Romare Bearden and perhaps a movie afterwards. The annoying part is there is no time reference of fireworks other than "after the baseball game" where the gates open at 5.
Supposedly "sky show" is the largest fireworks event in the southeast.
We always head down to Waxhaw for the show and festival. It's usually right on Providence and Broome Street. I haven't checked this year but it's always fun and the show is very nice. But it is a drive from Lake Norman.
I guess coming from the Chicago area I'm used to just about every town having their own show. We sometimes hit two different ones, especially when July 4th falls on a Saturday as some towns did them on the 3rd and then others on the 4th.
I'm really surprised that Huntersville or Cornelius does not do something out over the Lake with viewing from Blythe Landing or Ramsey Creek Park.
