Hi,
I have searched the forum and there seem to be many posts form several years ago with varied feedback. Do you send your kid to Berewick elementary? Do you like it? Someone mentioned many teachers left last year.
Thx

I lived in Berewick for 6 years. The kids went to school there K-3

Pros: New, clean, safe

Cons: Overcrowded. My wife and I would pop in from time to time and eat lunch with the kids/teachers, they all look exhausted....I think there are 23-24 kids per classrooms depending, with only 2 teacher aids twice a week! And a lot of those classes have 1-2 kids with serious behavioral issues. That is just brutal if your a teacher..they are working themselves to death...so if they left, this is probably why.

We moved out to SE Gaston last year. The first week of school we asked the kids if they liked New Hope more than Berewick, this was their quoted response - "Yes, all the kids are nice and nobody cusses"

Just my .02

I've lived in Berewick for 8 years, have 2 kids that attend(ed). My son went there 1st-5th grade, my daughter will be in 2nd. There has been a lot of teacher turnover but our overall experience has been positive. We're trying to make the neighborhood school work because the thought of sending our kids to a "better" school that's 30-45 minutes away doesn't sound appealing.
