I'm glad they accommodated you, as they should. We moved 12 hours away from our family too for Charlotte. We toured about 4-5 schools here and a few in some other cities in different states that we were also considering. Just so you know all the other states/cities were more friendly and accommodating in offering tours than this place. The schools in other cities were also a lot better maintained appearance wise in all honesty. We chose private here which has been good. Good luck.

Glad it worked out, we love being at Weddington and the Principal has always been very accommodating

That's because they sell you on the schools - then when you move there - they change the school - usually for the worse. Don't move to Union County for the schools - you won't get what you bought into. You will be redistricted and then raise your taxes for a lesser performing school. I'd sell you my house, but I lost 25K in value a few months ago when I was redistricted . I'm stuck here for now, but not for long.

I do remember my 1st tour in UC - The principle walked down the hall and had children come up and hug her. I watched her walk down the hall and know every child's name. You can get a feel in 15 mins re the atmosphere.

Now we did lock into our house prior to that experience - but I have to acknowledge the fact that the tour did solidify our choice as being the right one.
