As for crime, 1st make sure the location is Mooresville,NC (there is the same city in Indiana) and also try zip code 28117, which is specific to the schools that I referenced earlier. I checked neighbirhood scout and was very pleased with our crime rating. I have always felt very safe, and I am sure the sherrif's department can also give you very specific info. I have felt very comfortable and safe having kids play in the neighborhood, ride bikes, ect.

Thank you for all information. What does PTO means? Can you give the link, please? I'm looking very close all the schools.

Sorry, PTO stands for parent teacher organization. A link can usually be found on the website for the school, usually under "parents" tab. It is organized and run by the parents of the school and has its own operating budget to help support the school. Funds are raised through community fundraisers and are spent on school improvements. This money is not shared by all the schools in the district, but rather stays with the school that raised the money. If direct access is not on the web page, they most likely have a contact person for information.

Moved to Mooresville 3 years ago from the Canton/Akron area of Ohio and love it. My kids go to Lake Norman Elementary (3rd and 1st grade). The teachers and administration are great. My wife is involved in the PTO and spends a lot of time helping out at the school. Woodland Heights is another great elementary school that feeds into Lake Norman High school. I think crime is a little higher in Mooresville city (zip 28115) than on the Lake Norman side (zip 28117).

I am not too familiar with the public schools in Davidson, Cornelius, & Huntersville, but I think Lake Norman HS in Mooresville is rated a little better or as good as ones in your search area.

Not that many private schools in the area. More charter schools that are lottery-based to get into. A couple of those that are good and have neighbors' kids that have gotten into are: Pine Lake Prep (Davidson), Community school of Davidson, and Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville).
