Hopefully from me in about 6 months. I have just sold my flock in rural San Diego to good homes and am on track to move to Morganton in May where I will relaunch. My goal is to be at the Wed morning Hickory farmers market by October. Will keep you posted. BTW, message me privately about what you are accustomed to paying for fresh duck.

If you don't find it closer, call Ora Supermarket in Shelby. 704 487-4377. The place looks like a dump, but I know transplants who have gone there & raved about it. I think I saw duck advertised around holiday time.

@southbound and coastalplanner:: thanks, will check out those shops
You're welcome. You might also want to check the Dallas & Kings Mountain Ingles stores. I think I've seen fresh duck there as well.
Ora might be your best bet as it's independent. I think that they mostly deal with local farmers. Like I said, it looks like a dump outside. Based on the exterior, I wouldn't suggest it, but I know some transplants who are used to nice stores who have raved about the meats at Ora.
I would definitely call these places as they aren't close for you. Why waste the gas & then have to go back.

Thanks. I've been by there a few times & was turned off by the exterior but have heard other people rave about the place. I see their ads in What's Up Shopper & Shelby Shopper & the ads sometimes mention produce from local farms & they sell Broad River hams. I get the feeling that they have connections with a lot of local farmers.
