We have been to nc 3x in process of relocating at the end of this year. Coming from central ny. You want to see garbage, come here. Nc was very tidy when we visited. Hoping it's not what you all have been saying.
wow, this thread is hilarious! It's everyone else, it's the Indian population (by association if anything), it's trucks, it's tax dollars not being used appropriately, I'm moving out it's so bad. As a state and country implant, this is one of the biggest observations I see; while there are 'corporate' volunteer efforts and some larger professional organizations, there seems to be a lack of grass roots community action here.
Yes, it's reasonable to expect your tax dollars to be appropriately spent, but there are competing interests. Don't like the trash on the ground, instead of creating a damn facebook group, taking photos of it, then commenting on it, pick the bloody stuff up! Create a facebook action group - hey, we're meeting here on such and such a date to make our neighborhood beautiful, great if you can join us, take pride in your community and stop the entitled complaining. You have a great country here!
And even in jest, saying you're moving because of the trash......I'm genuinely sorry such a thought enters your mind - good luck in your search for nirvana.
I don't know which is harder getting the average citizen to practice what they preach or getting a state worker to do their job..
By the way I lived in the Baltics most of the last five years.. I wouldn't be throwing around comparisons too much.. The road material engineering there is god awful.. 88F and you're leaving footprints and warping the pavement, and commerce, GDP, and average building condition aren't much better.. I won't argue against superior principles, tradition, education, and nationalism though..

I wouldn't automatically assume that people who are making observations here or other social media platforms aren't doing something to keep the area clean. The problem is that even after a cleanup, it's not a long time before some poorly raised bozo throws out more trash in the exact same place. That can be very frustrating, so I think people are just venting. I do agree, though, that people need to work together for action and not just complain.

I don't see what any of this has to do with litter in NC/Charlotte?
Didn't you just quote above that you were moving out? Did something happen in the last 2 days?
Nothing has happened other than still looking at job offers before moving.
