Hi everyone,
I am a single mother of 2, currently living in Dayton, Ohio and looking to move to Charlotte, NC. I have not had the opportunity to really visit. I have only been through in passing. Please share from your perspective what neighborhoods are the safest for a single mom with 2- young girls, both under 12. What school systems are performing the best? I would even be willing to start there. Also, I am a full-time graduate student pursuing an MBA in Public Administration, but looking to get a position with federal government, state government, or a college university. What about churches? I am non-denominational, but I do not want a extra small church or an extra large church. I love the word of God, good preaching and teaching, and I am a gospel vocalist, so the choir is very important. Okay, I know that I have requested a lot of information, but anyone that is willing to help me out you are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
BOUND4SOUTH

You can check any school or school system in the country by visiti8ng GreatSchools.net (http://www.GreatSchools.net - broken link). You can see how your ki8ds' current school rates and then find one at least the same (or better) when you start narrowing down the neighborhoods. You also might want to consider the SC area right next to Charlotte. Houses might be cheaper and the schools are all tops. I was planning to move to Charlotte until I did some investigating, now I am looking at Ft. Mill, SC.
